The Hosts and Owners
Dakota Lodge Bed n' Breakfast |
Steve and Sue were married in the Abacos Islands, a string
of Bahamian islands located about 175 miles east of Palm
Beach, Florida, in February 2005, their 9th year as a couple.
They enjoy golfing and dancing, going to the fair and having an active role in the community. It is their
dream to buy a three masted schooner and sail around the world.
Steve is a certified diver and would love to add hours to his log
in search of sunken treasure.
Sue and Steve enjoy being out in
the country and taking time to enjoy the abundance of nature
around them. They have thoroughly enjoyed running the Bed n' Breakfast The Dakota Lodge.
Sue and Steve purchased the Bed n'Breakfast in September of 2001. In September of 2007 they made a decision to change focus in their lives. They brought on Deb and Al as Innkeepers. This allows them to travel and golf more.
Deb and Al share four children, three of which are adults, and one Grandchild. Deb grew up in Superior WI and Al in the Twin Cities. Deb prefers the quiet of the Northwood's.
Deb inspired by her mother, loves to cook. Meals were a special family time.
Deb spent 20 years running restaurants and working in motels. Three years working in nutrition for seniors. Now she prefers to take a step back in time, where things are simple and the coffee is always on.
Debs favorite pastimes are reading and scrap booking while Al's are photography and gun competitions. Where Al once worked as a professional photographer, he now enjoys taking photos as a hobby and hunting on their Hinckley property.
For the Dakota Lodge Bed n' Breakfast and Creative Classic Catering, Deb intends to use her Moms' recipes and those from the church ladies. She hopes to gleam wisdom from her guests.
